There's a promise of peace in everything. Every fear, every heartbreak, every joyful moment has a purpose.
A heart that is closed and blinded by society's narrative of peace will never understand that peace is found in the eye of the storm or in the midst of loss and grief.
They will spiritually starve themselves in their ignorance–Christ is our peace. His arms and stretched. His love unconditional. But pride has overtaken peoples hearts, mocking the simple act of getting down on your knees and asking for clarity and strength.
Peace is not God taking away trials, peace is accepting Christ in your heart. It is knowing He shares our tears and pain. Peace is using the Atonement and feeling gratitude and love for the man who bled from every pore, the man who was forced to wear a crown of thorns and was nailed to a cross to save mankind from spiritual death.
It's knowing He had a choice to not go through with it, but He did. He did it for me. Through this, He gave us a choice and a promise of peace. If our hearts are open to His grace and love, we will know peace through the storm.
We will know hope, and through Him we will have light in this dark, evil world.
He will give us tender mercies, but we must learn to acknowledge them. Sift them through the hurt.
